EUR 250 million granted to vulnerable populations in Iraq

Brussels, 22/05/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has approved the granting of humanitarian aid worth EUR 8.6 million to the vulnerable populations of Iraq, especially women and children. The funds, administered by ECHO, the European Community's Humanitarian Office, will finance a programme for: - improved water quality, hygiene and healthcare; - aid to disabled children, orphans and street children; - the provision of medicine and medical equipment; - the modernisation of...
