Accession by countries of Central and Eastern Europe should not cause tension on labour market of Fifteen, says expert study

Brussels, 22/05/2000 (Agence Europe) - One should not fear massive immigration but there is the risk of a problem of shuttle workers in border regions: such is the conclusion of the study conducted by a group of experts on a request by the European Commission services (DG Employment) on the "impact of eastern enlargement on employment and wages in the EU". The study proves to be a very useful technical study and constitutes a good contribution to the debate on the free movement of workers...
