Brussels, 24/03/2000 (Agence Europe) - Javier Solana, Secretary General of the EU Council and "Mr. Cfsp" said that the first Africa/EU summit in Cairo on 3 and 4 April had to launch a global "strategic partnership". The current partners have a regional character: the Barcelona Process concerns Africa north of the Sahara, the Convention with the ACP States concerns Africa south of the Sahara.
