ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) banking

The American group CHASE MANHATTAN is in talks with the shareholders of the British bank FLEMING HOLDINGS in view of taking the latter over. With total net assets of some £1 bn, a workforce of 7,500 and £66.7 bn under its management, analysts value FLEMING at £3 bn.
