ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) banking

Spain's foremost banking group BSCH - BANCO SANTANDER HISPANA CENTRAL HISPANO is to merge its telephony and Internet subsidiary OPEN BANK with the Argentinean site PATAGON.CPM in which it held 75% of the capital. This operation will take its share to 87%, the other 13% remaining in the hands of the creators of PATAGON.COM. According to some estimates, the new site is valued at 450 bn pesetas with 60,000 customers, 31,000 of which provided by OPEN BANK.
