European Commission prosecutes five Member States due to shortcomings in implementation of rules on bathing water

Brussels, 12/01/2000 (Agence Europe) - The legal delay set for the Member States to respect the criteria for bathing water quality by Directive 76/160/EC expired in 1985. However five Member States - the United Kingdom, France, the Netherlands, Sweden, Italy - still do not completely respect the rules.
