Portuguese Presidency officially erases the Europe/Africa Summit from its programme but does all it can not to have to cancel it

Brussels, 07/01/2000 (Agence Europe) - Announced a long time ago for 2000, the Europe-Africa summit may not take place under the Portuguese Presidency as planned, as the presence of all African countries, especially Morocco, cannot be counted on. According to the Portuguese representation to the EU, the Presidency nevertheless retains the hope of not having to cancel it and will do all in its powers to facilitate the event.
