Council adoptS joint action for assisting non-proliferation and disarmament in Russia

Brussels, 03/01/2000 (Agence Europe) - Underlining that the EU/Russia Partnership and Cooperation Agreement "advocates, inter alia, a greater convergence of our positions on international questions of mutual interest, which would allow an increase in security and stability", the Council of the EU adopted on 17 December 1999 a joint EU action establishing an assistance programme for the non-proliferation and disarmament in Russia (Official Journal L 331).
