According to the EP Research Directorate, the European Central Bank, should pay greater attention to the management of exchange rates - suggestions and possibilities

Brussels, 03/01/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Parliaments Directorate General for Research, in a working paper entitled "ECB options regarding the management of exchange rates" published in its Economic Affairs Series, notes that, during the elaboration of its "monetary strategy policy, centred on stability", the European Central Bank "has hardly looked into the policy of rate change" and that "very few conceptual provisions have been foreseen for a case of a massive real depreciation...
