15/06/26 (Agence Europe) – The EU Council agreed on Monday 15 June to include Ukraine in the European cyber reserve, thereby paving the way for the country to activate this mechanism and benefit from its support. This reserve provides incident response services through trusted private providers in order to address large-scale, high-intensity cyberattacks. It is managed by the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA). The European Commission had asked the EU Council to authorise this measure after confirming that Ukraine met the conditions required to benefit from it (see EUROPE 13870/10). “By welcoming Ukraine into the European cyber reserve, we are strengthening our collective defences and reaffirming the principle of solidarity, which lies at the heart of Europe’s digital future,” said European Commission Executive Vice-President Henna Virkkunen.
