11/06/2026 (Agence Europe) – The spokesperson for the European External Action Service, Anouar El-Anouni, said on Thursday 11 June that the level of violence seen in Gaza and the West Bank was “unacceptable”. Asked about the death of a baby shot dead in a car by an Israeli soldier, he “strongly” condemned, “on behalf of the EU, the killing of a seven-month-old baby by an Israeli soldier in the West Bank on Friday, the 5th of June”. “We call on Israel to ensure an independent, timely and thorough investigation and to ensure accountability”, he added. The spokesperson urged “the government of Israel to abide by its obligation under international law to protect the Palestinian population in the occupied territory. Any violence against children, including killing and maiming of children must come to an end”, he stressed. (CG)
