30/04/2026 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 29 April, the European Commission published guidelines for Member States on complying with their notification obligations under the Single Market Transparency Directive, according to a press release. They will help to prevent the creation of new obstacles within the single market, such as those identified in the ‘ten major obstacles’, which hinder the operation of businesses in the EU and/or increase their costs. Under the Single Market Transparency Directive, Member States are required to notify draft measures relating to IT products and services before they are adopted. These technical guidelines provide EU national authorities with information on how to apply the principle of proportionality when adopting national measures. They relate in particular to the ‘Proof of Competitiveness’ tool for impact assessments. Link to the document: https://aeur.eu/f/lsb (SP)
