Inflation estimated at 3% in April 2026 in the euro area

30/04/2026 (Agence Europe)Annual inflation in the euro area is estimated at 3.0% in April 2026, compared with 2.6% in March, according to a flash estimate published by the Statistical Office of the European Union (Eurostat) on Thursday 30 April. The highest rates were estimated in Bulgaria (6.2%), Croatia (5.4%) and Luxembourg (5.2%). The lowest figures are expected in Finland (2.3%), Malta (2.4%), France and the Netherlands (2.5%). According to Eurostat, inflation should be sustained in Italy and Germany (2.9%) and vigorous in Spain (3.5%). Looking at the main components of inflation in the euro area, energy is expected to have the highest annual rate in April (10.9%, compared with 5.1% in March), followed by services (3.0%, compared with 3.2%), food, alcohol and tobacco (2.5%) and industrial goods excluding energy (0.8%). (BD)
