29/04/2026 (Agence Europe) – According to the ‘European State of the Climate 2025 Report’ on climate change published by Copernicus on Wednesday 29 April, Europe is the fastest-warming continent in the world. The continent experienced widespread hot weather, with above-average temperatures over at least 95% of the continent. The latest Copernicus data shows that heat waves have hit the whole continent, including the second most intense ever recorded in Europe, and including near the Arctic Circle. These higher temperatures are also fuelling more intense wildfires, which have already ravaged around 1,034,550 hectares, the largest area ever recorded. In addition, in 2025, the seas around Europe recorded their highest average surface temperature ever, for the fourth consecutive year. To see the report: https://aeur.eu/f/lqs (CG)
