26/03/2026 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 26 March, the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the European Organisation for the Safety of Air Navigation (EUROCONTROL) published a joint action plan to strengthen the safety and resilience of European aviation operations amid the growing challenge of Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) interference. The aim of this action plan is to maintain safety in the short term, while limiting the impact on airspace capacity and controlling the threat of GNSS interference. It defines short-, medium- and long-term measures to mitigate the threat, through harmonised operational procedures and phraseology, and to enhance the robustness of GNSS-based operations by clearly defining the players involved and the deadlines.
