Prague, Tallinn, Dublin, Helsinki and Riga oppose a relaxation of competition policy, particularly in telecom sector

The Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, Ireland and Latvia have submitted a discussion paper on effective competition policy ahead of the EU ‘Competitiveness’ Council on 26 February.

In this note dated Wednesday 18 February, these countries reiterate that “there is an urgent need for policies that boost growth [and] productivity and strengthen [the] EU’s competitiveness”.
