The European Parliament plans to hold a plenary vote on the future common agricultural policy (post-2027 CAP) in January 2027, according to the provisional timetable for examining the draft regulation and its annexes, seen by Agence Europe.
The European Parliament’s Committee on Agriculture is responsible for examining the text, while the Committees on Environment and Regional Development have been asked for their opinions.
MEP Norbert Lins, (EPP, German), appointed rapporteur for the Committee on Agriculture, is due to officially begin discussions with negotiators from the other political groups on 25 February.
His draft report is expected to be finalised by 12 June. The Parliament’s Committees on Environment and Regional Development are expected to adopt their opinions by July.
At the same time, the members of the Parliament’s Committee on Agriculture will be preparing their amendments to the draft report, which are expected to be put to the vote on around 1 December. The aim is to conclude the legislative scrutiny with a plenary vote in January 2027.
In late January, the Parliament’s Committee on Agriculture began debating the proposals for CAP reform (see EUROPE 13797/11). (Original version in French by Lionel Changeur)
