NGO Seas At Risk demands adoption of ambitious Ocean Act

The NGO Seas At Risk is calling for the immediate adoption of an ambitious Ocean Act to save Europe’s seas from ecological collapse.

In a document published on 9 February (https://aeur.eu/f/kt6), it calls on the EU to adopt a binding regulation (and not just a directive) to ensure uniform application in all Member States.

The measures advocated include: - protecting 30% of Europe’s seas by 2030, including 10% as strict reserves, in line with the EU’s biodiversity strategy; - a 50%...
