22/12/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Monday, 22 December, the European Commission disbursed the sixth instalment of macro-financial assistance worth €2.3 billion to Ukraine under the ‘Ukraine Facility’. This instalment brings the amounts already disbursed through this budgetary instrument—whose budget totals €50 billion for the 2024–2027 period—to €27 billion. In mid-December, the Council of the EU green-lit disbursing this instalment, believing that the Ukrainian authorities had taken the measures required, in exchange for the financial support, in areas such as the management of public finances, the judicial system (new jurisdiction for hearing administrative cases), the management of critical raw materials, the determined national contribution to the Paris Agreement’s implementation, and the adoption of a plan for waste management until 2033.
