22/12/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 19 December, the Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) approved the proposal by the European Transmission System Operators (TSOs) to amend the methodology established by Regulation (EU) 2015/1222 defining when electricity trading can begin and end on the intraday market. These are the opening and closing times of the “Intraday cross-zonal gates”. The modification shortens the gate closing time from 60 to 30 minutes before delivery, while keeping the gate opening time unchanged. According to ACER, this measure is intended to bring the methodology into line with the requirements of the 2024 electricity market reform, by improving the efficiency of short-term markets. Implementation will begin on 1 January 2026, subject to national regulatory decisions. To see ACER’s decision: https://aeur.eu/f/k4i (Original version in French by Pauline Denys)
