EU launches emergency airlift to deliver aid to Darfur

15/12/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 15 December, the European Commission announced the launch of an EU airlift to the Darfur region in western Sudan, where mass atrocities, famine and displacement linked to the conflict between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces (see EUROPE B13761A18) have left millions of people in need of humanitarian aid. A total of eight flights will be carrying vital supplies, the EU institution said at midday on Monday.
