Cardiovascular disease remains EU’s main health challenge, according to report

15/12/25 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 15 December, a new report (https://aeur.eu/f/jzh) financed by the EU confirms that urgent measures are needed at European level to combat cardiovascular disease (CVD), the leading cause of death in the European Union. The ‘State of cardiovascular health in the EU’ report reveals that CVD is the leading cause of death and disability in the EU, accounting for a third of all annual deaths and affecting more than 60 million people.
