15/12/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 15 December in Strasbourg, the European Parliament’s Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs (ECON) and Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs (LIBE) approved the appointment of Henrica Verbeek-Kusters as a member of the Executive Board of the Anti-Money Laundering Authority (AMLA), by 90 votes to 3 with 2 abstentions. Mrs Verbeek-Kusters was Chair of the Egmont Group of Financial Intelligence Units from July 2020 to July 2022. Prior to this, she was Head of the Dutch Financial Intelligence Unit since 2008. Her appointment by Parliament will be put to the vote at the plenary session on Thursday 18 December. AMLA officially began operations in Frankfurt, Germany, in July 2025 (see EUROPE 13671/29).
