09/12/25 (Agence Europe) – The Council of the EU adopted an assistance measure worth €20 million for the Armed Forces of Côte d'Ivoire under the European Peace Facility (EPF), according to a legal act published in the Official Journal of the EU on Tuesday 9 December. In particular, the aim is to help strengthen the overall security and defence capabilities of the armed forces to protect the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Côte d'Ivoire and its civilian population against internal and external threats. In practical terms, the assistance measure finances non-lethal equipment such as intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance equipment and individual combat parachutes, as well as related supplies and services, including technical training in connection with the equipment provided, where necessary.
