09/12/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 9 December, the European Commission authorised €47 million in German State aid for the German pharmaceutical services provider Vetter Pharma. The aid will support the creation of new facilities for the aseptic filling of vials and syringes for injectable medicines in Saarlouis (site of the former Ford factory). Aseptic filling is a specialised industrial process that preserves the sterility of pharmaceutical products when they are transferred into sterile containers. The aid will take the form of a direct grant. The project as a whole is expected to create at least 1,200 direct and indirect jobs. The Commission found that the measure will contribute to job creation, economic development and competitiveness in a disadvantaged region. The aid has an incentive effect, as the beneficiary would not have carried out the project in a different non-assisted, region without the public support. (LC)
