In a report published on Wednesday 26 November, the NGO Save the Children explained “how current EU migration policies are not only failing to protect children but are actively sustaining and worsening harm along migration routes from Sudan to Europe”.
Based on interviews with 66 children and experts in 2025, it notes that the EU’s focus on border control makes children even more vulnerable.
