EU appeals against WTO report requiring review of European countervailing duty on specific Indonesian steel products

25/11/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 25 November, the European Union announced that it was appealing the decision by World Trade Organization (WTO) panelists to challenge its countervailing duty on certain Indonesian steel products (see EUROPE B13722A7). At a meeting the previous day in Geneva, Indonesia said it did not understand the EU’s decision to contest the arbitration, even though the Appellate Body is currently blocked.
