18/11/2025 (Agence Europe) – A coalition of 96 NGOs has launched a campaign to put an end to the influence of fossil fuel lobbies in policy-making, Climate Action Network Europe (CAN Europe) said on Monday 17 November, on the eve of the second week of COP30 in Belém, Brazil. These NGOs accuse the fossil fuel industry of blocking effective climate action “for decades”, by denying scientific evidence and delaying progress towards clean energy. By signing up to the ‘Fossil free politics’ campaign, the 96 NGOs have pledged to ensure that climate policies are designed to benefit people, not polluters, and to demand greater transparency from politicians about their dealings with the fossil fuel industry.
