EDPB finds new UK data protection framework compliant, but calls on European Commission to be “vigilant”

On Monday 20 October, the European Data Protection Board (EDPB) issued its opinion on the draft new adequacy decisions between the European Union and the United Kingdom, in the context of the reform of the rules on the transfer of data to third countries, redefined by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 (see EUROPE B13685A7). 

In its opinion on the draft new adequacy decisions, the Board calls on the Commission to monitor both the effects of the Retained EU Law (Revocation and Reform)...
