17/09/2025 (Agence Europe) – The European Commissioner for the Mediterranean, Dubravka Šuica, and the Saudi Arabian Minister for the Economy and Planning, Faisal Alibrahim, expressed their intention to launch negotiations on a strategic partnership agreement in the near future during their meeting in Brussels on Tuesday 16 September, according to a European source. “Our upcoming Strategic Partnership can open new opportunities to deepen our cooperation bilaterally. KSA can also play a major role in the region through triangular partnerships,” Ms Šuica emphasised on the social network X. She also stressed the importance of continued cooperation on a number of fronts, including the reconstruction of Syria, support for the Palestinian Authority and the future Palestine Donor Group. (CG)
