Issuing State must give its consent to non-execution of European arrest warrant, notes Court of Justice of EU

The Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) ruled on Thursday 4 September (case C-305/22) that without the consent of the State issuing a European arrest warrant, the judicial authority cannot refuse to execute the warrant and take responsibility itself for enforcing the sentence.
