Commissioner for Human Rights warns of risks of human rights violations linked to externalisation policies for migration

“External co-operation on asylum and migration needs to be designed and implemented with great care, so as not to put human rights at risk”, the Council of Europe’s Commissioner for Human Rights, Michael O’Flaherty, states in a report published on Thursday 4 September, concerning the externalisation policies on asylum and migration that have already been implemented or are currently being negotiated across Europe.
