Sweden sends series of proposals to European Commission for creation of ‘European Democracy Shield’

In a note sent on Wednesday 3 September, Sweden’s Minister for Defence, Carl-Oskar Bohlin, put forward a series of proposals to Michael McGrath, the European Commissioner for Democracy, Justice, the Rule of Law and Consumer Protection, aimed at countering foreign information manipulation and interference and strengthening democratic resilience in an increasingly hostile environment.
