04/09/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 4 September, the European Commission opened a consultation to begin drafting its new code of practice on transparency obligations for artificial intelligence systems, provided for in Article 50 of the AI Act. This code, which will be accompanied by guidelines, is due to come into force on 2 August 2026. The Commission is seeking views from providers and deployers of interactive and generative AI models and systems, as well as biometric categorisation and emotion recognition systems, by 2 October. The consultation is accompanied by a call for expressions of interest, open until 2 October, so that stakeholders can take part in drawing up the code of practice.
