Electricity demand in EU to grow modestly in 2025 and 2026, according to International Energy Agency

While global demand for electricity is expected to grow strongly in 2025 and 2026, forecasts for the EU are more modest, with growth of 1.1% expected in 2025 and 1.5% in 2026. These are the findings of the International Energy Agency (IEA) in its report on electricity for the first half of 2025, published on 30 July.
