Following publication of code of practice on AI models, sector’s major players are holding off responding—and signing

Twenty-four hours after the European Commission published the General-Purpose AI Code of Practice (see EUROPE B13678A17), reactions from the industry remain restrained. 

Tech giants, such as Meta and Google, have not yet decided whether or not they will subscribe to the code. According to their statements, they prefer, at this stage, to wait until they have studied its contents in detail before they make a decision.
