11/07/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 11 July, the European Commission announced the launch, with several Member States, of the first ‘Team Europe’ initiative to protect Ukraine’s cultural heritage. From this year onwards, more than 60 initiatives combining training and grants, as well as storage, preservation and heritage promotion. The Commission has also increased its special ‘Creative Europe’ 2024 call for Ukraine by €2 million, bringing the European contribution to the country’s cultural sector since the start of the war, in 2022, to over €50 million. These contributions reflect the “unwavering support” of the European Union, in the words of the European Commissioner for Culture, Glenn Micallef, at the Ukraine Recovery Conference, this Friday in Rome (Italy).
