11/06/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 11 June, the ambassadors of the Member States to the European Union (Coreper) appointed Marko Bošnjak, Slovenian, as a judge at the Court of Justice of the European Union to replace the late Marko Ilešic, for the remainder of Ilešic's term of office, which runs until 6 October 2027. Also appointed as judges to the General Court of the EU, from 1 September 2025 until the end of August 2031, are Raffaella Pezzuto (Italian, first term of office) and Johannes Laitenberger and Gabriele Steinfatt, both German, Danute Jočienė, Lithuanian, Maja Brkan and Damjan Kukovec, both Slovenian, and Jörgen Hettne, Swedish (reappointments). The two EU Council decisions will enter into force on the day of their publication in the Official Journal of the EU. (MB)
