On Wednesday 11 June, the Committee of Permanent Representatives of the Member States to the EU (‘Coreper’) adopted the Council of the EU’s negotiating mandate for the regulation on the screening of foreign direct investments (FDIs). The Polish Presidency of the Council of the EU has already scheduled an initial negotiation session (‘trilogue’) with the European Parliament for Tuesday 17 June in Strasbourg. The Commission adopted its position last May (see EUROPE B13636A9).
