11/06/2025 (Agence Europe) – May 2025 was the second warmest May on record worldwide, just after 2024, according to the monthly bulletin published on Wednesday 11 June by the European Commission’s climate change observatory, Copernicus Climate Change Service. The average surface air temperature reached 15.79°C, 0.53°C above the 1991-2020 normal, and 1.40°C above pre-industrial levels. Between June 2024 and May 2025, the average global temperature was 1.57°C higher than in the pre-industrial era. In Europe, temperatures were below average in the east and above average in the west, with a continental average of 12.98°C.
