European Commission approves new geographical indications for Portugal and Turkey

11/06/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 11 June, the European Commission announced that it had approved the addition of ‘Caralhotas de Almeirim’ (Portuguese), ‘Afyon Pastırması’ and ‘Afyon Sucuğu’ (both Turkish) to the Community register of protected geographical indications (PGIs). ‘Caralhotas de Almeirim’ are bread rolls produced in the municipality of Almeirim.
