On Tuesday 27 May, the Brazilian Agriculture and Livestock Confederation (CNA) lodged a complaint with the European Commission, asking it to open an investigation into the boycott of Brazilian meat by several French retailers.
The CNA is challenging four of France’s largest retail groups (Carrefour, Les Mousquetaires, E. Leclerc and Coopérative U), which together account for more than 75% of the French food market.
