28/04/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 25 April, the European Commission concluded its anti-subsidy investigation into mobile access equipment imported from China and imposed a definitive countervailing duty on them. These devices are used to raise workers, mainly on building sites. This customs duty is in addition to the anti-dumping tariff on the same product already imposed in January (see EUROPE 13554/19). The new duty varies between 7.3% and 14.2% of the net border price. It will protect European industry from unfair competition, according to the European Commission. The Commission showed that China was subsidising domestic manufacturers through tax breaks, land use rights below fair value or preferential financing.
