MEPs approve compromise on extending gas storage regulation

On Thursday 24 April, the European Parliament’s Committee on Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE) approved, by 64 votes to 10 with 12 abstentions, the compromise amendments negotiated and tabled by the rapporteur, Borys Budka (EPP, Polish), concerning the two-year extension of the regulation on gas storage beyond 2025 (see EUROPE B13621A11).

The ITRE Committee’s position establishes an annual fill rate of 83% and possible flexibility measures.
