Portuguese government gives go-ahead for €612 million in aid for energy-intensive companies

24/04/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 24 April, the European Commission authorised a Portuguese aid package worth €612 million, aimed at lowering electricity levy rates for energy-intensive companies. The aim of this support is to reduce the risk of these energy-intensive companies relocating their activities to locations outside the EU, where climate policies are less ambitious.
