14/03/25 (Agence Europe) – In a press release issued by the European External Action Service (EEAS) on Friday 14 March, the EU welcomed the signing the previous day in Bishkek of a final border agreement on the delimitation and demarcation of the common border between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, after three decades of conflict. “This is an important moment and a significant step forward based on dialogue and the peaceful settlement of disputes”, said the press release, stressing that the agreement will strengthen the resilience and stability of Central Asia. The EU is ready to support the implementation of the agreement, in line with its strategy for Central Asia and the joint roadmap for deepening ties between the EU and Central Asia. (PLD)
