14/03/25 (Agence Europe) – The EditoRed Alliance, made up of some fifty heads of European, Latin American and Caribbean media, including Agence Europe, will be holding a congress from Monday 17 to Thursday 20 March in Cartagena de Indias (Colombia). The purpose of the network is to defend press freedom, to contribute to a better mutual understanding on both sides of the Atlantic and to formulate positions and demands on developments in the media sector for the political world. To this end, the participants will sign the ‘Cartagena Declaration’. The conference will be opened by the Colombian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Laura Sarabia. The two main themes this year will be the impact of artificial intelligence on the media and relations between the EU and Latin America and the Caribbean, with the EU/CELAC summit due to take place in Colombia, probably in November.
