Slovakia brings an interstate application against Belgium before European Court of Human Rights

10/03/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 7 March, the European Court of Human Rights announced that it had received an interstate application from Slovakia against Belgium. The case concerns the death of a Slovakian national after he was stopped by Belgian police at Brussels-Charleroi airport. The Slovak government invoked Articles 2 (right to life), 3 (prohibition of inhuman and degrading treatment), 8 (right to respect for private and family life) and 14 (prohibition of discrimination)...
