Employment in EU environment sector increases around 10% on average in 2022, according to Eurostat

03/03/2025 (Agence Europe) – The environment creates jobs. In 2022, employment in the environmental economy in EU countries increased on average by 9.5% compared to 2021, according to Eurostat. Greece recorded the biggest increase (+38%) in jobs. According to Eurostat, energy resource management is the biggest generator of jobs in the environment, accounting for 34.8% on average.
