In his first speech in Europe, Brendan Carr, the new Chairman of the US Federal Communications Commission, criticised the European Digital Services Agreement (DSA), accusing it of being a tool of censorship incompatible with the American “tradition of freedom of expression”,
“There’s a risk that [EU] regulatory regime imposes excessive rules with respect to free speech”, he said at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on Monday 3 March.
